Sticker Price is Everything… Right?

Chapter Meeting
October 17, 2023 | By Warren Clunie

Our budgets for projects, whether they are modernizations, additions, new builds or even equipment replacements, use initial construction costs to drive our decisions during design that can have on-going effects 25 to 30 years later. However, should construction costs be the key metric that we should be looking at to make the most cost-effective decision? Life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) can be a powerful cradle to grave analysis tool that can help clients, consultants and other project stakeholders understand the cost impacts of decisions made today for the life of a building, their systems, and materials.
LCCAs can help stakeholders avoid economic surprises and reveal hidden costs before it’s too late.
